Lovely Reader Review

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Mom in the Making by Kit Wilkinson is a perfect example of what Aristotle meant. A medical romance and inspirational fan, I picked up Wilkinson’s first Love Inspired when I learned the hero was a flight surgeon with PTSD. As I started reading the story of Justin Winters and Becky Kirkpatrick, the pregnant widow who was married to Justin’s estranged friend, I realized this book was more than a simple mix of two genres. A hero to make the reader sigh, a strong but vulnerable heroine, a family feud, a dash of suspense, finely crafted secondary characters, Wilkinson’s warm style and excellent pace combined to create a truly enjoyable lesson in forgiveness and moving forward. I hope the author, who has written Love Inspired
Suspense, will continue to write more for the Love Inspired line.

MAIL from Readers

I’m coming up from writing to say that I have gotten a nice inflow of very sweet reader letters lately which have meant so much to me. I was a little worried about trying my hand at writing contemporary romance instead of a romantic suspense so it’s really great to have the nice feedback. Thanks! Here’s a few excerpts which I’ll quote here anonymously…

“… just finished “Mom in the Making”. Couldn’t put it down. Really loved your character development and connection to the story of Ruth.”

“I enjoyed Mom in the Making. It was a great mix of characters and left you with a “happy to be continued”‘

“The true beauty of the whole thing, though, lies in your ability to underpin the work with faith in such a pure way. By exemplifying — not preaching — you provide a welcoming gateway for both people of faith and those who have not yet found the path. What a gift!”

Thanks so much, readers!!!

Seussical the Musical and Christian Youth Theater

Today’s kids get a lot of flack about being lazy and clueless. Well, let me tell you about an amazing organization called CYT or Christian Youth Theater. It involves kids from ages 8-18 and they put on several productions and classes and camps throughout the year. My daughter has recently gotten involved and it has been a great experience for her. I love that she is exposed to all these smart, driven, and kind teenagers. She’s learning about being a part of something BIG and how everyone has to work together to succeed. She’s also gotten some great vocal training and dance work and stage experience which I know will stick with her. Even the try out was an experience. And here we are six weeks later and I have been totally blow away by the quality of this show and the kids that are participating in it. Anyway, it’s nice to see and be a part of…  CYT is a national organization. For more information you can go to www.cyt.org. If you are in the Richmond area, come out and see Seussical the Musical (showing now) and Tom Sawyer (June). Go to www.cytrichmond.org for tickets. The productions are top-notch from sets to costumes to singing to dancing …. you name it. You can’t be disappointed!

Here’s my daughter as ZOE WHO in Seussical….

Entire cast for “Green Eggs and Ham”and our Horton :-)
