Protector’s Honor Book Launch
The book launch for Protector’s Honor was a great success! There was a wonderful showing despite all the September Back-to-School conflicts and we sold over 140 books. YAY!!! All through the night, people asked me if I got tired of signing. Um…NO WAY! Never! (Scroll down for more great pictures.)

Sweet Suspense, September 23, 2009
Protector’s Honor is a sweet romance with a heart-skipping story. The author didn’t go heavy-handed on the suspense. She offered moments of sweet relief through the ever-building romance between the hero and heroine. She did a great job plotting out the story and left me guessing who-dunnit till the very end. Ironically, my very favorite line in the book was the very last one. I won’t give it away. But I don’t think I’ve seen a more fitting “wrap-up” line in a book in years. Kudos to the author! Nicely done. If you like fast-paced suspense thrillers with a strong romantic thread, Protector’s Honor is the book for you.

Reader Response for Protector’s Honor
I wanted to take a day here and say thank you to the many readers who have written to tell me what they thought of Protector’s Honor. And so as not to confuse anyone, let me explain that although the official release date for the book is September 8, Harlequin book club subscribers receive theirs a month in advance. Anyway, what a great feeling to find such nice notes in my Inbox!
Here’s another short review from fellow Love Inspired author, Susan Page Davis:
“Kit Wilkinson’s Protector’s Honor delivers suspense and romance with flair. I especially liked the backdrop of triathlon competition, and the setting in western North Carolina added an authentic feel to the story. I look forward to seeing more from Kit!”

NCIS-Naval Criminal Investigative Service
Since Protector’s Honor features a main character who works as a special agent for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, I thought I’d post a couple of interesting facts about this fascinating and often overlooked division of law enforcement.
* Today Navy ships cannot enter a port unless NCIS has completed an on-the-ground threat assessment and vulnerability assessment. (BTW, I’m at Cape Henry watching an Air Craft Carrier, The Harry S Truman, come into the Bay at this very moment
* NCIS agents were the first U.S. law enforcement personnel on the scene at the Cole bombing… the Limburg bombing… and the terrorist attack in Mombasa, Kenya.
* NCIS’ Cold Case unit has solved 50 homicides since 1995—one of which was 33 years old.
* NCIS has conducted fraud investigations resulting in over half a billion dollars in recoveries and restitution to the U.S. Government and the U.S. Navy since 1997.
* NCIS investigates any death occurring on a Navy vessel or Navy/Marine Corps aircraft or installation (except when the cause of death is medically attributable to disease or natural causes).
* NCIS oversees the Master-At-Arms programs for the Navy, overseeing 8800 Masters-At-Arms and the Working Dog program.
NCIS is also responsible for MTAC-Mutiple Theater Alert Center which is a complex terrorist assessment tool. NCIS employs about 2500 special agents and operates in 140 field offices around the world. Their moto is Beyond Boundries.
